These sound like technical (even painful) terms, but they're actually quite simple: 

Bleed
This is the portion of your design that will be trimmed off when the card is cut to the final size. Its purpose is to make sure your design or image reaches right to the very edge of the cards, leaving no unsightly white edges.
If you're designing cards before you upload, you'll need to make your artwork 'Full Bleed' size to account for this. You'll find a list of 'Full Bleed' recommended sizes here, or we have a range of templates available for every product. 

Trim
This is the final size of your cards, after the 'bleed' has been cut off. 

Safe area
This is an area inside the 'Trim'. Being smaller than your final card, the safe area is kept well away from blades and cutting machines, and so this is where you should place your most important information or sections of your design. Anything outside of this area runs a risk of being cut off!

Where are you located at?
Our main office is located at Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. We also have another office located at Butterworth, Penang, Malaysia.

If I’m not at home, what other option available to receive the packaging?
Local delivery agent may require a signature from you. If you work during the day, the best solution is to provide us your working places address so that we can deliver to you immediately. 

I wish to deliver my order to different places. How is the delivery charge like?
Separate delivery fees are applicable for every different delivery destination requested.

I want get my order faster than usual, can I pay extra for the delivery fees?
For special arrangement, please do not be hesitate to contact us. Other than that, you can consider digital offset printing as another option for faster printing turn around.

What day will businesscard.my send out their order?
The order usually will be sent out 1 day after the printing turnaround times. Please note that all turnaround times are in working days only (Mon-Fri, excluding Public Holidays).
The turnaround estimation is based on our prerogative. 95% of the orders are within the estimated turnaround time.

How much does postage/delivery cost?
Businesscard.my will charge extra for the postage/delivery for every single order.
West Malaysia: RM10 for flat rate
East Malaysia : RM15 per KG 

Can I collect my order at businesscard.my office?
You may do self-pickup at our office in Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Please contact us to arrange for collection time to avoid any inconveniences.

Software
The recommended software for you to use are Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign. Please note that we require at least Creative Suit 4 (CS4) and above. Any other image editing software can be use as long as it able to set our required specifications.


Color
Images from digital cameras by default are set to RGB colours. In order to maintain the printing quality, we would suggest converting the image or graphic into CMYK base colours. This is because CMYK is commonly used for high quality printing purpose and gives the final print a more realistic view. You may also need to adjust color level, brightness and contrast of your image or graphic to suit your preferences.


Image Format
The standard format for graphic or image required is JPEG, PDF or PNG file type. Images from digital cameras are by default in JPEG format.
Size/Resolution
The most important part of image and graphic will be the size or resolution of the image. If the resolution is too low, when enlarging for prints, the image may be pixelated. Our minimum requirement is 300dpi.


Typography
For typography, please ensure that the text size required is at least at 6pt. It is recommended for you to create outline with at least 0.5pt and above thickness for your text. This is to prevent the text from blurry and unclear after the final print.

What should I do before making payment?
It is advisable for our customers to send us your own artwork for us to check before proceed to payment. This is to avoid any unnecessary issues in the final printing quality.

How can I make my payment?
At the moment, we only have bank transfer as our main payment method.

We do accept cheque payment, however we would require you to email us the cheque slip as a proof of payment for our reference.

Is my payment secure?
We took great priorities in assuring that your payment is safe and secured, as well as your personal data and privacy information.

Do i get back the balance if i were to over pay by bank transfer?
No, the balance will not be refund. Please pay the exact amount through Public Bank counter / Online Banking / come over to our office to make cash payment.

Does businesscard.my store my information?
Yes, the system will be automatic store your name, email address and your previous order. It will be easier for you to make next order.

I’m having trouble paying for my order, what can I do?

How long does printing take?

What method does businesscard.my going to use for printing?
You are given an option to choose either high quality offset printing or digital printing presses for your own name card design.
Both methods are using four-color ink process.

Can I print smaller quantity?
200 pieces is our minimum order quantity for business card printing.***

Can I split my minimum order into 2 or 3 set?
We regret to inform that our minimum order quantity for each design is only 200 pieces.***

What is the standard dimension of your business card?
It’s similar with the standard business card size in Malaysia. The measurement is 89mm x 54mm.

Does businesscard.my offers double-sided business cards?
Yes we do. All the business cards will be having double-sided design and printed in full color. There are no extra charges applied.

Can I include QR code on my business card?
Yes you may, simply because QR code relies on the color black and white. It is possible to have other color as a background but it will reduce the chance that a phone or webcam to scan the unique code.

Can I print my own design business card?
Yes, you are able to design your own business card. Please read and follow our ‘upload your design’ guideline.

Can I use my own logo and photo?
Of course! The easier way is for you to email us your logo, attached the design together with your contact information. Then our designer will help you to create the artwork.

What are bleed, trim and safe area?
Bleed - This is the extra we cut off to avoid white strips on the edge. Make sure any images or colors fill this area.
Trim - This is where we cut off the extra, the actual artwork line.
Safe Area - Make sure any text or information is inside the box, otherwise it might be getting cut off.

What the different between vector image and bitmap image?
Bitmap image normally is talking about JPEG and PNG file. It is made up by thousands of tiny squares and it is also call 'pixels'. The amount of pixels shown in an image is called 'resolution'. When the images contain fewer pixels, it might be pixelated. Therefore we would require high-resolution image thus the image would look smoother when printed.
Vector image means that the design can be enlarged to larger sizes while it still maintaining smooth edges. We would recommend you to use software such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop to create all the line, text and graphics.

I’m having trouble when uploading my file, what can I do?
We apologize for the inconveniences. Worry not, you may contact us directly and inform us the problem you have experienced and our team will try our best to solve the issue as soon as possible.

Can I reorder my previous order before?
Yes, you can reorder your designs that have done before. The requirement is within 3 month of your previous order. For more information, please refer to Saving My Work.
